The Juliana Lock in Gouda connects the Hollandse IJssel with the Gouwe Canal and is therefore an important junction for the waterways of Zuid-Holland. To continue to meet the demands of increasing commercial and recreational shipping in the future, a second lock chamber has been built next to the existing chamber, built in 1936.
Hollandia Infra was commissioned by main contractor Van Hattum en Blankevoort to carry out the steel and mechanical engineering work for this second lock chamber.
The work for Hollandia Infra included the design, manufacture, delivery and installation of four point lock gates including the electromechanical manoeuvring equipment, the delivery of one set of levelling gates and the spare manoeuvring equipment. In addition, the design, manufacture, delivery and assembly of the two steel drawbridges over the new lock complex.
