On Saturday, September 9 and Sunday, September 10, work was done to commission the Haringvliet Bridge’s valve. Early Saturday morning the bridge was opened for the first time with the new engines. Various safety systems and a number of new technical installations were also tested. The top of the tooth track received a final coat of paint and for this work, the bridge was open for a while on Saturday.
Monday morning, September 11, at 5 a.m., the bridge reopened to road traffic. Night closures are still scheduled for the next two weeks for testing work.
