The transport with the bowstring bridge of approx. 200 m long, 20 m wide and over 40 m high has successively passed the Van Brienenoordbrug, the Hef, the Koninginnebrug and the Erasmusbrug. The transport is expected to pass the Botlek Bridge just before 06.00 hours. Early this morning the transport could be followed live via www.suurhoffbrug.live, until the moment the Hartel complex was reached.
About the transport
During the transport, the temporary Suurhoff Bridge is on floating pontoons, which are connected to each other. A tug and a pusher are positioned in front and behind them to pull, push and steer the whole thing. The total configuration has a length of almost 250 metres.
Continuation
In the night of Monday 10 May to Tuesday 11 May 2021, the journey to the Maasvlakte will continue and the transport will pass the Hartel complex and the Harmsenbrug. We will start with the installation of the bridge next to the existing Suurhoffbrug in the night of 14 May to 15 May. The planning of both the transport and the placement depends on the weather and the tide and can therefore change until shortly beforehand.
