Renovation of the Kadoelerbrug - Hollandia

Renovation of the Kadoelerbrug

At the beginning of this year, we started the renovation of the Kadoeler Bridge on behalf of the Municipality of Noordoostpolder. The bridge is an important connection between Flevoland and the province of Overijssel. Following a period of preparation during the design and planning phase, the renovation is now officially underway and clearly visible on site.

To maintain accessibility in the area and keep disruptions to a minimum, we installed a temporary pontoon bridge in advance. It opens four times a day to allow vessels to pass. Over the coming months, the Kadoeler Bridge will be fully closed to motorised traffic, giving us the space required to carry out this major renovation.

Under near-perfect conditions – dry weather and almost no wind – we successfully removed the existing bridge deck, including the ballast box and the mechanical operating equipment. Our civil engineering partner, Koninklijke Oosterhof Holman, is now carrying out modifications to the bridge pit and the approach bridges. Hollandia Infra is producing the new bridge leaf at our yard in Krimpen.

Recently, a delegation from the Municipality of Noordoostpolder visited our yard in Krimpen to see the progress. The new bridge leaf was neatly prepared in its tack-welded state, and welding on the underside had already begun. The delegation was very pleased with the warm welcome and the clear explanation of the works. A great compliment to the team!

The project remains on schedule, and the expectation is that the fully renovated Kadoeler Bridge will be back in service in November 2026.
