Reinforcement measures for the Veerhavens in Texel and Den Helder

For six weeks, our service technicians worked nights: on a scaffold, above the water. Together with partner Boonzaaijer, they replaced 118 anchors of the rail tracks in the hoist towers of the ferry ports in Texel and Den Helder. By carrying out the work during the night, there was no disruption to the regular TESO ferry service.

The rail tracks are now securely and durably fixed. The hoisting installation—and thus the entire mooring facility—can safely function for the coming years. We prepared and executed this urgent task in a very short time to resolve the issue (the shifting of the rail tracks) before the busy summer season.

The mooring facilities at the ferry ports in Texel and Den Helder are managed by Rijkswaterstaat. They date back to the 1960s and are scheduled for replacement around 2030. Until then, Rijkswaterstaat conducts research and performs major maintenance to ensure that the TESO ferry service remains safe and reliable.
