The construction of the new BoBobrug in Maastricht has reached an important milestone. This week, the first two of the seven steel bridge sections were successfully installed. As a result, the 139-metre-long cycle bridge, which will soon connect the Maastricht districts of Borgharen and Bosscherveld, is now clearly beginning to take shape.
Earlier in the project, our colleagues at Van den Biggelaar Grond- en Waterbouw completed the installation of the bridge piers. With the placement of the first steel bridge sections, another significant step has now been taken towards completing the bridge.
From the air, it is easy to see how the bridge is gradually extending across the River ‘Maas’. Favourable weather conditions also provided spectacular views of the lifting operations.
Over the coming weeks, the remaining five bridge sections will be installed, after which construction of the bridge will continue.
