On the vast construction site in the floodplains of the Gelderse IJssel, and in the shadow of the IJssel Bridges, the project welcomed around 350 visitors during the Dag van de Bouw (Day of Construction)!
Young and old alike had the chance to walk across the 10-metre-high scaffolding, take a look inside the work tents, and even stroll along the closed section of the motorway. For children, there was an exciting treasure hunt across the site, a steady-hand game and a river flow model. On the large marketplace there was plenty to see and do, and visitors could also enjoy a refreshing ice cream.
Alongside Dura Vermeer and Hollandia Services (together Savera IJsselbruggen) and Rijkswaterstaat, other project partners were also present at the market to explain their role.
A special feature was the participation of several surrounding projects that (as yet) have no construction site. This gave ViA15, WOCU, A12 Slim Reizen and Rivierklimaatpark the opportunity to connect with the regional public.
This was the last time that the A12 IJssel Bridges project took part in the Day of Construction, as the renovation works on the bridges will be completed early next year.
