The Kadoelerbrug is due for major maintenance. The steel bascule leaf and the concrete approach spans will be replaced, along with the moving mechanisms, technical installations and guide structures. In December 2025, the municipal council officially gave the green light for the project. The design has now been completed and the contractor consortium has been selected.
Contractors
This maintenance project requires a wide range of expertise. Four contractors will therefore collaborate on the project: main contractor Hollandia Services, Hollandia Infra, Koninklijke Oosterhof Holman and Batenburg Beenen.
Planning
The works are expected to commence in April 2026. The maintenance is scheduled to be completed in October 2026.
Diversions
During the maintenance works, the Kadoelerbrug will be fully closed to road traffic, cyclists and pedestrians. A diversion route for road traffic will be in place via Vollenhove. For cyclists and pedestrians, a temporary pontoon bridge will be installed next to the bridge. On weekdays, this pontoon bridge will open at fixed times to allow shipping traffic to pass.
With this maintenance project, we are ensuring that the Kadoelerbrug remains safe, reliable and fit for the future.
