The Dutch Association Bouwen met Staal has launched the Movable Bridges training programme, in which experts from the infrastructure sector — including former colleagues of Hollandia — share their knowledge. A fixed element of the programme is a site visit to Hollandia Infra. Last week, we welcomed the first group of participants, representing provinces, municipalities, engineering firms and the private sector.
During the visit, colleagues Patrick Bos, Maarten de Vries and Huib van der Vlist provided insights into Hollandia’s day-to-day practice. They addressed the complexity of large-scale infrastructure projects, the requirements of ROK 2.0 (Rijkswaterstaat’s Guidelines for the Design of Engineering Structures), and the challenges associated with the Replacement & Renovation programme. Topics such as stakeholder management and the impact of works on road traffic and shipping were also discussed — issues that require renewed attention in every project.
Following the presentation, participants were given a tour of our production halls, highlighting the scale and technical complexity of these structures. The day concluded with an informal get-together at the Zalmhuis, where conversations continued enthusiastically.
It’s great to contribute as a knowledge partner and to share our experience with fellow professionals. In this way, we’re not only building steel structures, but also strengthening knowledge and craftsmanship within the infrastructure sector.
