Commissioned by Vialis, Hollandia Services carried out major maintenance on the Delflandse Buitensluis during the period August 2016 to February 2017. The lock is located between the Princess Juliana Bridge and the Galgkade. The lock doors have been well maintained so that the lock can withstand years of use again. The Delfland outer lock is used by small cargo vessels and pleasure boats to sail from the Nieuwe Waterweg into the port of Vlaardingen and the surrounding area. The lock is operated by the harbour master of the municipality of Vlaardingen. Maintenance is managed by the Delfland Water Board.
