In the last few months, our Engineers from Hollandia Services worked hard on the Final Design of the new drive works of the gates (Benedenstroomse Schuif) of the Dutch IJssel Defence (Hollandsche IJsselkering). The DO was accepted at the beginning of October. We are extremely pleased to have reached this milestone together with Rijkswaterstaat. The parts are now in production. These exciting drive units will be installed in the summer months of 2021.

Great challenge
It has turned out to be quite a challenge to make a suitable design. The existing monumental environment and new standards in combination with disciplines such as Failure Probability and Machine Safety faced many challenges. With the help of 3D scans, various trade-off analyzes and a team of specialists, we eventually succeeded in creating a supported, structurally safe design. The Final Design was accepted at the beginning of October. We are extremely pleased to have reached this milestone together with Rijkswaterstaat. The parts are now in production. These exciting drive units will be installed in the summer months of 2021. We are proud of the team’s achievements so far! Towards a challenging implementation in 2021.
