New pedestrian and cycle bridge successfully installed in Zoutkamp
Under the first rays of spring sunshine, the new pedestrian and cycle bridge in Zoutkamp has been successfully lifted into place. The bridge will be located next to the existing bridge over the Reitdiep and will contribute to improved traffic safety on the N388 as well as better accessibility to the village.
The steel bridge has a total length of 62.5 metres and a width of 4 metres, and consists of three sections: two fixed spans and one movable span. Each of these components was carefully lifted into position and assembled on site.
The project is being carried out by Hollandia Infra and Friso Civiel, commissioned by the Province of Groningen. Our colleagues from Hollandia Services, Friesland branch, are responsible for the on-site assembly works on behalf of Hollandia Infra.
The bridge is part of Nieuwe Waterwerken Zoutkamp, a joint project by Waterschap Noorderzijlvest, Province of Groningen and Municipality of Het Hogeland.
