Riffgat Offshore Transformer Station - Hollandia

Riffgat Offshore Transformer Station

Within the German twelve nautical mile zone, north east of the Dutch island of Schiermonnikoog, wind farm ‘Riffgat’ has been constructed. The Joint Venture Strukton-Hollandia has been contracted for the turnkey delivery of the offshore high-voltage substation.

This turnkey project comprises the engineering, fabrication and offshore installation of a 33/155 kV offshore high-voltage substation, which will connect 30 pieces 3.6 MW wind turbines to the German electricity grid.

With a total installed capacity of 108 megawatts (MW), the wind farm will provide approximately 100,000 German households with renewable energy.

The platform was installed on 15 February 2013 by Seaway Heavy Lifting.

The Strukton-Hollandia Joint Venture was founded in the summer of 2009 by Strukton Systems BV and Hollandia BV with the aim of becoming a solid and reliable partner for the supply of offshore high-voltagesubstations for wind farm operators and investors.
