Prelude - Hollandia

Prelude

After months of preparation Hollandia Systems in Heijningen started in May 2012 with the construction of a huge water purification installation commissioned by Shell Prelude. A skid of 12 x 14 x 16.5 metres (l x w x h) with a total weight of 319T. The construction was painted in parts, after which the two separate sections were stacked on top of each other and shipped in January to Hollandia in Krimpen aan de IJssel to be finished.

The entire construction will be placed in the hold of Shell’s Prelude FLNG (Floating Liquid Natural Gas) vessel. This is the first floating system that produces, stores and distributes liquid gas. With this FLNG concept, a pipeline to the coast and onshore investments are avoided. This ship is no less than 488 metres long and 74 metres wide and will be deployed in the waters around Australia. The vessel was built by Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea. Hollandia Systems focuses on the design and production of customer-specific installations, equipment and constructions. These products are mainly used in the offshore, chemical and process industries and by water boards and district water boards. Hollandia Systems has its own quality department and many products leaving the production hall are delivered with a 3.1 or 3.2 certificate.
