Replacement & renovation Cruquius bridge

This week the movable part (the halyard) of the Cruquius Bridge was lifted out of the bridge. With that, work on site is now really in full swing! Meanwhile, we have built the new halyard in our production hall in Krimpen and are working on the final finishes.

Project Cruquius consists of 2 bridges. Last weekend we worked hard to put the traffic phasing in place for this stage. Together with KWS Infra and Vialis, Van Hattum en Blankevoort separated the two bridges from each other, placed sheet pile walls, milled out the asphalt and applied new lines. Traffic is now using the other bridge section where 2 lanes are available in each direction.

Contractor combination Van Hattum en Blankevoort and Hollandia Infra is working on these bridges on behalf of the Province of North Holland. Together we are doing everything possible to minimize the inconvenience to the surrounding area. It is also a special project. After all, the bridges are being built in a circular, energy-neutral and low-maintenance manner.

We are using the latest techniques in this project. For example, Geopolymer concrete will be used in the structural components. The bridge will also be energy-neutral by using solar panels and a heat exchange system in the foundation piles, which uses heat from the ground.
